This big guy hung around a small water hole watching us for the longest time. Why no horn, you ask? Without harming the rhino, park rangers removed it to discourage poaching. Unfortunately, poaching is still prevalent in the African bush, and we saw several guns-loaded patrols on our safari drives in South Africa, Tanzania, and Kenya. We also learned that the government recently passed a “shoot-to-kill” law, which allows the rangers to shoot any poachers committing the crime.
