Size Matters. Young elephant with “tusker.”
One of the great pleasures of seeing elephants wild in their own habitat is to witness how they care for each other in large groups, with all having a role in protecting and nurturing the young. This little guy stayed close to this much larger “tusker,” the name given to the larger and older males with very long tusks.
Thanks for viewing these images from my new African Safari series. While there were many other activities, the real purpose of our first trip to Africa was to see and photograph the wildlife while on safari. Starting in South Africa at the Sabi Sands Reserve, we completed 3 days of twice-daily safari rides, and what an adventure! We had a great guide and tracker, and most of the time, we had the safari vehicle from our lodge, Simbambili, all to ourselves. In this same new series, you’ll soon find images of our 2 other safaris in the famous Masai Mara region of Tanzania, as well as the equally-famous Serengeti region of Kenya, where we witnessed the Great Migration. If the image is shown in standard (2x3) format, the mininmum size printed on metal or canvas, is 12x18”. If shown in square format, the minimum size is 12 x 12”. Pricing for larger sizes available on request.
